"Mycotoxins are some of the most prevalent toxins in the environment.  Mycotoxins are metabolites produced by fungi like mold, which can infest buildings, vehicles, and foodstuffs.   A majority of mycotoxin exposures are through food ingestion or airborne exposure.  In the European Union, 20% of all grains harvested have been found to be contaminated with mycotoxins.  Unfortunately, mycotoxins are resistant to heat and many processing procedures.

Fungi are able to grow on almost any surface, especially if the environment is warm and wet.  Inner wall materials of buildings, wall paper, fiber glass insulation, ceiling tiles, and gypsum support are all good surfaces for fungi to colonize.  These fungi then release mycotoxins into the environment causing symptoms of many different chronic diseases.  Diseases and symptoms linked to mycotoxin exposure include fever, pneumonia-like symptoms, heart disease, rheumatic disease, asthma, sinusitis, cancer, memory loss, vision loss, chronic fatigue, skin rashes, depression, ADHD, anxiety, and liver damage.  With our new MycoTOX Profile, we can identify mycotoxin exposures and make recommendations for detoxification treatments that have been effective."

Who Is This For?

This package is for anyone who suspects mold toxicity or is struggling with mystery illness! Please also read the pre-test instructions below as you may want to purchase a detox challenge supplement. 

Even if you are not currently living in toxic mold, this test will still be able to shed light on your case. It will help uncover many environmental toxins that your body may be harboring, including past mold exposure that is still causing problems. To help your body present the current toxins it is holding on to, we recommend that you precede the test with a "toxins challenge," as outlined below.

"Glyphosate was introduced in the 1970s to kill weeds by targeting the enzymes that produce the amino acids tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine. What Are the Specific Testing Instructions?

We ask that you perform a "toxins challenge" before testing. To do this, do one of the following:

• Use a sauna the day before, evening is preferred. Do whatever level of heat/time is comfortable for you. 
• Fast for 12 hours before testing. For example, if you normally wake up at 6 AM, stop eating by 6 PM the evening prior. Collect morning urine at 6 AM.
• Discontinue glutathione and binders for 72 hours prior to testing.

What Is the Timeframe?

Once all your test results have been returned to us, we will contact you to make an appointment. It's usually about 3-4 weeks from when the lab receives the test that we get the results.

What Other Mold Testing Do You Recommend?

• A dust test or mold plate test is essential if you currently suspect mold in your home, office or vehicle. You can order any of these tests yourself. Learn more.

• If you are positive for mycotoxins in your urinary mold test, we recommend a follow up MARCoNS test to uncover any hidden infections in your nose. You can order this test from us on a full-up visit, and you will pay the lab directly as the pricing varies per specimen and review it with us in a Past Labs Review session.  Learn more. Do You Take Insurance? 

We are health coaches and cannot bill insurance or provide you with specific receipts or paperwork to submit to your insurance. (We do provide a receipt, but it may not be accepted by insurance.) However, if you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) credit card, you may be able to purchase this service on that card if coaching and testing are allowed. If you have trouble getting your HSA card to work on our site, we can send a PayPal bill instead. 

Can We Review Other Lab Results at the Same Time?

We do not review any past labs unless you have purchased the same lab from Hormone Detox Shop in the past (i.e., it's a retest). If you would like us to review other labs, we are happy to do that. That is included in a Past Labs Review, and you have the choice to review 1-3 or 4-6 labs. Please make that purchase at the link above, and you will receive an email letting you know how to upload those documents and schedule that appointment. 

If you are not interested in that option but want to see how these new results compare to results from a past lab with another practitioner, that will be easy to do if it's the same lab testing company. You will easily be able to compare a past DUTCH with a new DUTCH, for example, to see what's changed. Your Hormone Detox coach will interpret your current results and give you a plan that fits your current situation. You are welcome to verbally share with your coach, "my cortisol has come way down since my last test," but ultimately it doesn't affect your current plan.
