Benefits of Using Activated Charcoal
Activated Charcoal is highly porous and can adsorb unwanted substances, carrying them out of the digestive system. It is helpful to absorb gas in cases of bloating, to assist in food poisoning, to support detoxification when using a sauna or through other means, and can even be used to recover from too much alcohol!
Why I Love Activated Charcoal: from Bridgit
"Activated charcoal is an affordable toxin binder that has a special affinity for the gut. If you are bloated from overeating or from SIBO, or if you have the stomach flu or a hangover, it can often give fast relief. Take two as needed for acute symptoms. For general toxin binding, take two a bedtime or early morning 2 hours away from food or medication. I wouldn’t recommend activated charcoal as a long-term binder, but rather for acute needs or a course of 1-2 months. There are other binders that you can rotate into your program."

Activated Charcoal Suggested Usage
Take 2 capsules as needed with a full glass of water. As this is a non-discriminatory binder, take at least 1 hour apart from other medications and supplements when possible, such as between meals or when getting up or going to bed.
While on a detox protocol, take a binder about twice a day, and keep in mind that using a full-spectrum binder like GI Detox may provide more benefits for this. If you are using this with a detox practice such as an enema or sauna, take a dose right before you begin.
To learn more about different types of binders, see this blog for an overview, or this blog for GI Detox vs. Mega IgG.
Caution: Binders are not recommended for use during pregnancy or nursing, so please consult with your healthcare professional prior to use. This product is not intended as a treatment for accidental poisoning.
